These tulips simply amazed me with their golden yellow bottoms catching the sun. Being pulled into the gardens with my cameras while the weddings gear up...a most exquisite season for botanical photography.
Ate a fabulous salad all from the garden tonight. We celebrated Gea's birthday too. Happy Birthday Week Gea! www.geawear.com Everyone loves her clothes!
Two months after planting we see abundance in the garden. It was slow coming but we are now eating zucchini, tomatoes, lettuce, arugula, beets, string beans, sugar snap peas, basil, chard and nasturtium flowers. A great effort with our neighbor Alissa has brought us this wonderful summer treat! We love it!
The breeze at dawn has secrets to tell you. Don't go back to sleep. You must ask for what you really want. Don't go back to sleep. People are going back and forth across the doorsill where the two worlds touch. The door is round and open. Don't go back to sleep. -Rumi
Alchemilla is a member of the rose family. Alchemists believed that the morning crystal dewdrops in this plant, which they called heaven's water, held magical powers to help them in their work. Photographed in Boulder today after an evening of Spring rain.
Today the garden is ready for planting after days of building, shoveling, transferring compost, and tilling. It begins in this emptiness, ready to receive.
Seeds are sprouting indoors and ready to go into the new garden Dan and I built this weekend. SO exciting to bring this space to our neighborhood. Thank you Dan for your amazing help in executing this project!
