Veggie Garden!

Seeds are sprouting indoors and ready to go into the new garden Dan and I built this weekend. SO exciting to bring this space to our neighborhood. Thank you Dan for your amazing help in executing this project!

I Love Earthday

And I love Maya and Dan and Carter and Tyler

Giving thanks for the blessings of communication, patience, opening and forgiveness.
Bearing witness to transformation softens my heart.
And if you stand really still under a blooming crabapple tree and soften your eyes, you will see and hear hundreds of bees doing their work...a real treat!

Innocence

There comes a time when as a parent, I realize that I am no longer able to contain the innocence of my child. It all starts so innocently, the magic of pregnancy, labor, birth...it hardly seems possible that my heart could open so much to embrace a love this profound. Like in any relationship, there comes a time when I need to open up to a new perspective and instill a trust in her heart and my own. A time to realize how incredibly significant our influence is on their lives. A time when that inherent trust might be challenged.
Therein lies an opportunity to form an even more solid connection, bear more of myself to her, to my own self, my vision. A stronger identity can perhaps illicit a stronger sense of knowing, of teaching, of mothering, of influence, a place of higher ground where we can live in pure honesty, open heartedness, belief in the other, and faith in the inherent goodness of the human spirit.

Mirrors

If we accept that life is always trying to teach us exactly what we need to learn, we can view everything that happens to us as a gift. Even experiences that are uncomfortable or painful contain within them an important key to our healing, wholeness, and prosperity. We may have difficulty understanding what the mirror of life is trying to show us, but if we sincerely ask for the learning and the gift in every experience, it will be revealed to us one way or another.

Colleen and Jason Wedding

My first courthouse wedding in a snowstorm. We had a great time photographing in a typical April snow in Boulder. Colleen and Jason, a fabulous couple got married in the courthouse and had a beautiful reception at The Kitchen, www.thekitchencafe.com.

My dear friend Melinda died from breast cancer last September. Today is/was her birthday. She lived on Briarpatch Rd pictured here. A magical place in Stonington, CT. Thinking of this extraordinary woman who loved life and her children so passionately. Bless you Melinda and miss you!
